A password unlock sends an alert, because someone else might know it. After wrong attempts, the alert includes how many came first.
Get a message when Macsafe starts or is deliberately turned off. macOS relaunches it if it quits or crashes.
A familiar Touch ID or Apple Watch unlock stays quiet by default. Prefer to see every unlock? You can turn those notifications on.
Alerts go directly from your Mac to your own Telegram bot. There’s no AppAlbania server in the middle and no Macsafe account to create.
After a wrong attempt, the camera switches on for about two seconds. The macOS green camera light remains visible.
Your bot key is stored in macOS Keychain. Photos are removed from your Mac once Telegram receives them.
Visible by design: a shield in your menu bar and an entry in Login Items.

Intel Macs are not supported.
Macsafe starts after you log in, so the first password after a restart isn’t monitored. Your Mac’s lock screen must be on; a closed or sleeping Mac isn’t watched.
Alerts are kept for up to seven days while your Mac is offline, so they can be delivered when the connection returns.
macOS relaunches Macsafe after a crash (about one second) or a quit (about five seconds). Deliberately turning it off sends a message first.
While waiting, Macsafe uses approximately 14 MB of memory and 0% CPU, according to the product specifications.
Macsafe watches your Mac's lock screen. Every wrong password sends a message to your own Telegram with a photo from the camera, the time and the name of the Mac. You see it on your phone a few seconds later, wherever you are.
Macsafe runs in the background from the moment you log in. If it is closed or crashes, macOS opens it again on its own (back in ~1s after a crash, ~5s after a quit). Turning it off on purpose sends you a message first. While waiting it uses ~14 MB of memory and 0% CPU. Alerts are kept for up to 7 days when there's no internet.
