Someone typed the wrong password on your Mac. Here is their photo. Macsafe watches your Mac's lock screen. Every wrong password sends a message to your own Telegram with a photo from the camera, the time and the name of the Mac. You see it on your phone a few seconds later, wherever you are. It tells you when it matters, and stays quiet when it's you Wrong password – a message and a camera photo for every wrong attempt, counted: 1x, 2x, 3x. Fingerprint not recognised – a message and a photo when Touch ID doesn't match. Unlocked with the password – a message, because someone else might know your password. After wrong attempts it tells you how many came first. Unlocked with Touch ID or Apple Watch – nothing. That's you. (You can turn these on if you want every unlock.) Macsafe turned off or started – a message when someone turns it off, and when it starts after a restart. Ready in about two minutes Install – open the download and drag Macsafe into Applications. Signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without warnings. Connect Telegram – paste your Telegram bot details and press Send test alert. Allow the camera – click Allow, press Send test photo, lock your Mac. You're protected. Hard to switch off without you knowing Macsafe runs in the background from the moment you log in. If it is closed or crashes, macOS opens it again on its own (back in ~1s after a crash, ~5s after a quit). Turning it off on purpose sends you a message first. While waiting it uses ~14 MB of memory and 0% CPU. Alerts are kept for up to 7 days when there's no internet. Your photos go to you, and only you No AppAlbania server in the middle – alerts go straight from your Mac to your own Telegram bot. No account to create. The camera turns on only after a wrong attempt, for about two seconds (the green light shows, as macOS requires). Photos are deleted from the Mac as soon as Telegram receives them. Your bot key is stored in the macOS Keychain, not in a file. Nothing hidden: a shield in the menu bar and an entry in Login Items. Requirements Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer), macOS 13 or later Administrator account A Telegram account (free) Good to know: Macsafe starts when you log in, so the first password after a restart isn't watched. The lock screen must be on (a closed or sleeping Mac isn't watched). Intel Macs aren't supported. More info: appalbania.com/macsafe
